After 11 high-stakes episodes, B. Smith's executive chef Rock Harper became the victor of Gordon Ramsay's Fox reality show Hell's Kitchen. The finale aired last night, and more than 200 spectators joined Harper and his family at the Union Station restaurant (which brought in big-screen TVs for the occasion). Harper's prize: a $250,000-a-year gig as head chef at Nevada's Green Valley Ranch Resort, which begins September 10. The series finale taped back in February, forcing Harper to keep his win a secret for six months, a feat he described to The Richmond Times-Dispatch as "annoying."

In the last episode, Harper beat Los Angeles personal chef Bonnie Muirhead with a winning menu of crisp chicken and crab cakes, a pan-roasted rib-eye steak with morel sauce, and a vanilla-bean milkshake with double-chunk chocolate cookies.

James Page is taking over Harper's job as executive chef at B. Smith's.
