Occasions Caterers recently debuted a cool dessert option for the winter season. The "Chill Grill" is a traditional cooktop that freezes sauces and purees instead of heating them. The result? What owner Eric Michael calls "dessert pops": solid, crunchy surfaces and cool, creamy centers in flavors such as mango and piña colada. The grill serves as an interactive station, where guests can watch the process and taste the product. While there are other dessert options for the grill, such as sorbets, the pops are proving to be the most popular; more flavors, including kahlua and hot chocolate, are in the works. The grill is best suited for parties of fewer than 100 guests.
