This is part of our Business Entertaining 2008 special report.

Gordon Ramsay’s first West Coast restaurant is expected to open in the new London Hotel (the former Bel Age) in April. The eponymous Gordon Ramsay will feature embossed leather furnishing, velvet upholstery, and hand-cut mosaic tiles, and the menu will take inspiration from seasonal, local ingredients.

SBE’s first hotel property, SLS at Beverly Hills, is expected to debut this spring. The former Le Meridien will receive the full Philippe Starck treatment, and chef José Andrés will take over the food and beverage program, bringing his traditional and avant-garde Spanish fare to the hotel’s restaurant, bar, lobby lounge, and in-house catering operation. When the second phase of L.A. Live debuts near Staples Center in October, it will bring 12 new restaurant and nightlife options to the downtown area, including ESPN Zone (with its satellite broadcast studios), SBE’s Katsuya, Fleming’s Steakhouse, the Farm of Beverly Hills, the Yard House, Lucky Strike Lanes, the relocated and expanded Conga Room, Rosa Mexicano from New York, and an unnamed Wolfgang Puck restaurant.
