1. EMMY AWARDS CELEBRATION PREVIEW: From BizBash Los Angeles bureau chief Alice Dubin: This morning, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will transform the lobby of its Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood for a media preview of this year's Emmy awards celebrations, revealing the look for the Creative Arts Ball (which will take place September 10) and the Governors Ball (September 18, following the 63rd Primetime Emmy awards). Reporters can expect a decor theme organizers describe as "mod illusions," a black-and-white look inspired by '60s mod. 4. BARCLAY BUZZ: The InterContinental New York Barclay has some new guests in town—honey bees. Four colonies of the buzzing insect will occupy the hotel's 15th floor rooftop garden this week to help pollinate the herb and fruit gardens. CHICAGO: Fiat is creating a pop-up drive-in movie theater on North Clark Street on Saturday and Sunday. The brand will set up 40 new Fiat 500 vehicles, and play double features on both nights. The activation also includes Italian snacks, bocce ball courts, and test drives.

Time Out Chicago will host its first Food Truck Social August 27 on Ashland Avenue. Gaztro-wagon will become a pop-up restaurant for the occasion, and four local chefs—including Stephanie Izard and Bill Kim— will work at the spot in two-hour shifts. Other participating food trucks include Hummingbird Kitchen, Flirty Cupcakes, and Starfruit Cafe.

LAS VEGAS: Magic will present its invitation-only executive program, Magic Select, for V.I.P.s and influencers in the fashion industry over the course of the show. The program will be headquartered at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas from August 22-24.

United Friends of the Children is partnering with big-name local chefs to present the third annual Cultivate L.A. food and wine event, planned for September 17 at a private Bel Air estate on eight acres. Participating chefs include Suzanne Goin, Eric Greenspan, Helene An, Susan Feniger, Joachim Splichal, and Roy Choi.

Larry's, the newest project from owners Mark and Erwin Sokol of Hotel Erwin, opened yesterday in Venice with operating team chef Brendan Collins and director of operations Carolos Tomazos.

NEW YORK: The third run of Fashion's Night Out is already shaping up to be bigger than years past and now it looks like the shopping initiative will also be a platform for Fiat to promote its new car. The Italian auto company announced yesterday that it has teamed up with Gucci to create the Fiat 500 by Gucci limited edition model. Inspired by black-and-white films, the vehicles will debut September 8.
