Simple luxuries with a New York twist was the theme of Infiniti's Taste of Luxury event at the New 42nd Street Studios. Match Catering and Eventstyles, who has done this event for Infiniti for six years, teamed up with Musters & Company to transform one of the venue's dance studio spaces into a simple, elegant cocktail party and buffet dinner.
The event was held to celebrate the new line of cars Infiniti will showcase at the New York International Auto Show at the Javits Center from April 13 to 22. The event's approximately 200 guests included potential customers, Infiniti execs and journalists.
It isn't easy to encapsulate New York cuisine in a single event, but Match's executive chef Kim McGuire had many of the bases covered with Junior's cheesecake, Nathan's hot dogs and deli food. And even though it isn't exclusively New York-ish, their little macaroni and cheese hors d'oeuvres were very tasty. Pianist James Sampliner enhanced the Big Apple theme by playing jazz and Broadway showtunes (amplified by equipment from the Bose Corporation, a partner in the event).
Musters & Company decorated the seating area with crimson tablecloths and tall cherry blossom displays. The firm also brought in chrome cocktail tables and a pair of cushy bed seats covered in shimmering red silk.
