For the Council of Protocol Executives (COPE) reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the museum's contract caterer, Restaurant Associates, put together a very pretty summer spread of food. (With so many big-spending decision-makers in the corporate event and meeting planners' group, you can understand why.) The buffet table included Parmesan cheese pieces served in a bowl made of cheese rind, and bowls of fresh fruits, including cherries, figs, grapes, peaches and strawberries. Another summer-style idea: slices of kiwi and papaya served on skewers.
