Choice Hospitality, the group behind Nacional, Nine Thirty, Holly’s, and Holly’s West, has opened an outpost of Tengu in the former Ivy at the Shore location. Designed by Franklin Studios, the space is awash in contemporary decor with a black-and-white palette, coffered ceilings, Indian marble, and bleached wood parquet floors. Even better, the front patio has unobstructed views of the Pacific coastline. The indoor-outdoor sushi and cocktail bars anchor the main room, where executive chef Shunji Nakao (known for his food at Matsuhisa and the Hump) serves Pan-Asian specialties along with premium sakes and cocktails. The entire space holds 150. —Lesley Balla
