Burbank's Organic Zen Haven

Chris Haas has opened Ra Organic Spa in downtown Burbank to capitalize on the neighborhood’s renaissance and all-day crowds, especially those from nearby businesses. Eco-friendly design elements like natural stone, bamboo floors, and nontoxic plants create a serene, Zen-like oasis amid flowing water features. The 4,000-square-foot spa has six large treatment rooms, a couples’ suite, and a Thai massage room strewn with comfy mattresses, pillows, and curtains. Services include facials, body wraps, herbal foot care, and Thai, Swedish, Balinese, and Shiatsu deep-tissue massage. A boutique carries all-natural bath, body, and skin-care products, plus gifts purchased from around the world. Ra is available for groups and private parties. —Lesley Balla
