Right now, on the streets of New York there are trucks selling burgers, cupcakes, waffles, French food, old-fashioned baked goods, dumplings, and high-end ice cream, not to mention long-standing favorites like Mister Softee. You can now add another mobile food business to the list: Street Sweets, a bright blue, text-covered truck selling sweet and savory offerings. Launched in June, Street Sweets offers baked goods like muffins and scones ($2.50 to $2.75), cookies ($1 to $2.25), quiches ($6), and choose-your-own-filling croissants ($3.50 to $4.75).
Brooklyn-based One Girl Cookies is affiliated with the business, providing products and handling some of the baking in their shop. The truck, which runs on bio-diesel fuel to reduce emissions, is equipped with a small kitchen where items can be baked on-site. Street Sweets can make appearances at events in the tri-state area for a minimum of three hours. Pricing depends on the number of guests and location. The company can also drop off its baked goods to offices for smaller gatherings or corporate gifts. Custom treats are also available upon request.
