For the Miami premiere of The Mighty Macs, a film about a team's journey to the first national championship in women's college basketball, the movie's executive producer Sean Wolfington called on Triton Productions to design, plan, and produce both a reception for the cast at a local cinema and an after-party at Soho Beach House. To light up the rather dark pool area at the venue, Javier Velarde, executive producer of Triton Productions, tapped Everlast to provide accent lighting for the outdoor space, highlighting the pool, DJ, and bar areas. The October 21 event also showcased projections of the movie's title.
At the party for 300, Velarde and his team set up a wide range of lighting: intelligent lighting in the pool with movie title projections; hundreds of mini LED lights marking the pool's perimeter; and lighting that lit up the mirror-topped bars and DJ booth. In the pool, Velarde provided lit floating floral accents such as carnation-covered styrofoam spheres. "The pool area was really dark, but it came to life through the lighting," Velarde said.
