Interesting created spaces

Inflatable igloo-like cabanas and glowing furniture accented Google's ball at the Mellon Auditorium.

A projection of a giant waterfall was a focal point at the Hawaii State Society ball.

Of the 5,000 square feet Target utilized for the event, 2,600 square feet was dedicated to the gymnasium alone. Multiple clear vinyl tents were pieced together to make one large tent while external air-conditioning units were brought in to keep the space cool. The walls came down during the party, leaving only the roof—from which hung miles of streamers and one disco ball.

The Napoleon dining table and chairs were used to provide elegant and whimsical cocktail seating, unusual from the typical 30-inch round. The movement and texture of the leaf pattern projected on the walls further developed the "Safari Lounge" concept with simple effort.

"Placing tent frames in an interior space helps create an intimate environment by using overhead space that often gets ignored," said Dwayne Ridgaway of Perfect Surroundings.
