The AdBall

Toronto's AdBall, held at the Mod Club on January 31, had a Great Gatsby theme. Performers dressed in period garb entertained on a digital runway created by 5th Element Events; later in the evening, the runway held a fashion show that featured ad industry bigwigs as models.

Chicago’s sprawling food festival, once the city’s most successful large-scale event, has been revamped to address declining attendance and profits in recent years. This year, the Illinois Restaurant Association managed Taste of Chicago, shortening it from 10 to five days, adding attractions such as pop-up restaurants, and inviting guests to purchase tickets to concerts by Jennifer Hudson. Some one million guests attended and many vendors reported increased profits. Next: July 2013

The Washington Humane Society’s Fashion for Paws Fund-Raiser

Syzygy Events International returned as the visionaries behind the staging and decor for the Washington fund-raiser in April. Designers took inspiration from fashion designers Jason Wu's and Louis Vuitton’s 2013 spring collections with sleek, black and white decor with checkered details.
