With a location in Brickell along the Miami River and 200 feet of dockage for boat parking, the restaurant American Social debuted in January. It's the second outpost for the comfort food concept, which originally opened on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. The spacious 260-seat venue has 6,500-square feet of interior space and 3,000 square feet of alfresco dining under a canopied terrace. Planners have two options for private events: a 12-person private dining room and the 50-seat Kennedy Lounge, which has an illuminated bar, floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Miami River, and an electric fireplace.

YVE Hotel Miami, a 243-room property in downtown Miami, has opened. The hotel has 1,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. It took over the former B2 Miami Hotel. The property has a partnership with Wynwood art gallery Art Bastion, which will curate installations at the hotel as well as offer art tours throughout the city.

The Coconut Grove event space the Loft on Bayshore opened in November. The space has a contemporary design and seats 150 or holds 300 guests for receptions. Thierry's Catering and Event Design is the venue's caterer.
