
To mark the launch of a collaboration between Mindy Weiss and Wedding Paper Divas on a new collection, the well-known social event planner and the social stationer hosted an intimate, feminine luncheon at Los Angeles's new Lombardi House on February 25. At the event, guests could fill bags with a custom potpourri mix.



"The dinner tables were dressed in a combination of white textured linens and silver birch linens to provide a polar-landscape-inspired foundation," designer John Hensel of HMR Designs said. Tabletop decor also included hand-carved "icebergs," iced-glass hurricanes, aluminum vases, and tall iced-glass cylinders. Hall's Rentals provided ice-blue wine glasses, and a box of Altoids at each place setting made for a thematic gift.

Working with Time Inc.'s Cyd Wilson, Tony Schubert of Event Eleven designed and produced the Los Angeles affair for the fifth consecutive year in 2013. The event had an overall look and feel Schubert described as "romantic" and "rich," evocative of the Art Deco era. The color scheme incorporated plenty of wine-red hues.




Held in Paris in 2011, the event had touches inspired by a winter in Russia. Traditional Russian folk scarves draped the backs of each seat, adding not only a decorative element, but also a parting gift for guests and an on-the-spot warmup.







At the 21st annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, silver sequined linens from La Tavola added glitzy pop to tables.











To drum up buzz for the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, which happens only every two years, the Kimmel Center staged a multisensory press conference in February. The event included three food-theme installations that engaged guests, including an ice sculpture featuring musical instruments meant to illustrate the concept of an underwater concert.

Bored of traditional theater- or classroom-style room setups? Designing a arrangement with an assortment of furniture "is an ideal way to provide flexibility and choices for attendees’ different personalities," says Michele Wilde, the resort's director of conference services and event sales.

Not every event wants to meet at a hotel. Variety and WWD chose Smashbox Studios for a different feel.


Wedding resource company The Knot celebrated its 20th anniversary with its annual Knot Gala on Monday at the New York Public Library. The event, which was produced by Strawberry Milk Events, had a Fêtes des Rêves dream party theme inspired by the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. The event showcased Macy's VIP Lounge, which featured products from the brand's Fine Jewelry collection in ice sculpture displays.

Tito's Handmade Vodka offered guests specialty cocktails from an ice bar that displayed the event theme and colorful flowers.

Revlon hosted its annual philanthropic luncheon, which supports the beauty brand's Women's Health Mission, on September 27 at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. BMF designed centerpieces of clean white block lettering that spelled out "Spread the Power of Love" with red roses set in black vessels.
