In a smart move that avoided the complications that come with laying carpet over stairs—especially on a snowy night in New York—the event's producers projected a strip of red light over the library's front steps, effectively creating a virtual red carpet that led to the entrance. Hundreds of LED candles sat on either side of the illuminated pathway.

Pulled from C. Cretors in-house museum, 12 antique popcorn machines were on display. The machines were as large as 12- by 20-foot, and carefully transporting them into the space required assistance from the Museum of Science and Industry's collections department.

A translucent curtain separated the cocktail reception from the dinner area. Sound Investment illuminated the divider with purple light and a company logo.

For Bergdorf Goodman's anniversary party, guests gathered for cocktails in the Plaza's Terrace Room before being ushered into the Grand Ballroom. Inside the reception space, the production team placed imported trimmed topiaries amidst the property's gilded ceiling and chandeliers.

An eclectic mix of lounge furniture—the chairs came from Bergdorf's—helped set the eccentric tone of the evening's decor. Forty trees were positioned throughout the venue, while modern floral arrangements of calla lilies, hydrangeas, roses, sweet peas, anemones, scabies, delphinium, clematis and concord grapes, pomegranates, and figs dotted the mirrored tabletops.

Exterior Illustrations

As part of the Smirnoff Experience series of events in 2010, Mosaic Experiential Marketing placed graphic illustrations in the windows of Toronto's Andrew Richard Designs. The illustrations depicted comic book characters arriving at a party, mimicking the arrival of guests on the red carpet.
