Last year, Toronto’s sold-out “Motionball” gala, in support of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, had a “Glitz and Graffiti” theme. Accordingly, drapes and bright lights added a feeling of warmth and vibrancy in the reception space.

Guests entered the benefit by walking through an oversize keyhole, a visualization of the evening's theme of "Unlock the Future." Freestanding keyholes in the same size continued at intervals along the entryway.

The benefit's decor always celebrates New York City. Fabricated elements this year included 3-D silhouettes of iconic buildings such as the One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building.

Bergdorf Goodman's 111th Anniversary Gala

The iconic retailer celebrated its 111th anniversary with a gala in New York in 2012. With 13 cloud-like shapes spun from pure raw cotton suspended overhead, Van Wyck & Van Wyck bathed the Grand Ballroom in Bergdorf's signature hue by changing out the room's chandeliers with 300 hand-dipped lavender light bulbs.

The National Ballet of Canada's White Hot Gala

The National Ballet of Canada went with a “White Hot” theme for its fourth annual fund-raiser at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Four models dressed in white body suits and wigs stood guard atop risers on the stage as guests entered the hall for dinner, and event organizers created a cloud effect on the stage.
