Diffa: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS hosts its flagship event at Pier 92, inviting top designers, architects, and other professionals to create tabletop installations. The event, which is co-located with the Architectural Digest Design Show at Pier 94, raised $800,000 and drew a record number of 40,000 attendees. Other versions take place across the country. Next: March 16-19, 2017

Design Exchange hosted its annual fund-raiser in November at the Canadian Design Museum in Toronto. "Dispatch," the event's theme, explored the country’s intersections of design, art, and culture. Each floor showcased interactive installations and multisensory experiences, while Drake’s producer DJ Boi-1da performed a live set. Proceeds from the event support DX's public and education programs.

​For the inaugural Medair New York gala, ​held on March 30 at Stephen Weiss Studio in New York​, HL Group Events highlighted the nonprofit's global efforts by using materials and supplies found in the field such as steel, wooden pallets, and buckets throughout the design, including the stage​.​

At InfoComm 2017, which took place June 14 to 16 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Freeman produced the Park, an 18,400-square-foot outdoor-inspired lounge that was designed for attendees to relax and recharge. The activation offered food-truck-style displays with street-style lunches, a beer garden, interactive games, live entertainment, and networking events.
