A kid-friendly family event took place on October 2. Brand signage for the event was created with Crayola crayons. Kids and parents were encouraged to color in the rest of the wall.

This may be the one time it’s actually okay to get marker all over the furniture. Taking inspiration from the recent trend of adult coloring books, national furniture rental company AFR has introduced a new initiative called #ColorYourEvents, which allows guests to grab a marker and color in branded decals that are adhered to tabletops. (The company's Aspen Cocktail Table is pictured, but the decals can be used on other AFR tables as well.) Clients provide the artwork and markers, and AFR handles the decal printing and pasting. Pricing depends on the item and the size.

Need some pool party inspiration? Chandon kicked off the season in quirky style at its American Summer Soiree on May 21 and made creative use out of an inexpensive prop: pool toys. Celebrity guests such as Brittany Snow posed in front of a step-and-repeat that comprised bright blue dolphins, smiling pink flamingos, branded beach balls, and other inflatable toys.

To play up David Copperfield's involvement in the evening, the planners behind the L.A.'s Promise gala worked with the magician's team to set up a photo booth that would create the illusion of guests floating in the air. At first glance, the set-up looked odd, with a plant and Copperfield cut-out placed sideways against a wall.
