The Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C.

The recent renovation of Ritz-Carlton Suite at the Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. was the final phase of the hotel’s full-property renovation, which included the lobby and Quadrant Lounge, the redesign of its Club Lounge, and the completion of its new meeting spaces and 10,500-square-foot ballroom. The 2,220-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Suite boasts a spacious living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a private dressing room, and a walk-in closet, as well as full marble bathrooms featuring a jacuzzi, a separate bathtub, and a rainforest shower, along with a separate guest bathroom. The suite also offers an outdoor terrace with panoramic city views. The Ritz-Carlton Suite can accommodate up to 25 guests standing and 20 on the terrace. The formal dining room can seat eight and has a connecting pantry so that the executive chef can customize a chef’s tasting menu.

6. Curadero and Arriba Room

Downtown’s Kimpton Palomar is home to Curadero. Open since April, the ground floor of the Mexican restaurant features exposed brick walls painted with colorful murals. A long community table anchors the center of the restaurant with bar seating and individual tables scattered throughout. The Mexican eatery spans 1,750 square feet, with seating for 60 banquet-style. Upstairs from the Curadero is the Arriba Room, a game lounge featuring classic arcade games. The 1,600-square-foot space accommodates as many as 100 guests.

4. Tapas & Beers

Tapas & Beers, Downtown’s newest gastropub specializing in Spanish cuisine, has been open since April. Located next to Horton Plaza, the 1,700-square-foot space features an outdoor patio overlooking the street and a wraparound bar. The dining area is filled with counter-height stools with a loft overlooking the space. There is seating inside is for 60, with additional patio space for 25.

Held at the Beverly Hilton on January 6, the 20th annual Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globes party had an elegant, living room-inspired atmosphere designed by JOWY Productions. Black-and-white artwork was framed by a series of bold, glossy bookshelves that featured black and white books and gold accessories.
