The San Francisco Symphony's gala, which was held September 14 at San Francisco City Hall, featured four concurrent dinners. The largest one was the colorful patron’s dinner, which was housed in a 12,000-square-foot tent erected next to Davies Symphony Hall. The Blueprint Studios-designed space was inspired by modern chinoiserie art and fashion.

The dinner was followed by an after-party for 600 guests who mingled under the glow of pink and amber lights.

The Recording Academy’s official Grammy after-party, known as the Grammy Celebration, followed the awards next door to Staples at the Los Angeles Convention Center’s West Hall. Produced by the Recording Academy’s Brandon Chapman and Rex Supa, working with Angel City Designs, the event drew its traditionally massive crowd of 5,000.

A neon-green outline of the recognizable shape of an Absolut bottle served as an entrance into a platform bar area, designed and produced by MKG.

HBO’s Cindy Tenner worked with longtime design partner Billy Butchkavitz on the annual bash, which took over the Hilton's Aqua Star Pool and Circa 55 Restaurant and Trader Vic's bar areas. Butchkavitz, renowned for his over-the-top and detail-rich designs, called this year’s event, “about as clean and minimalistic as Billy Butchkavitz can get, which still means lots of vibrant patterns and textures but with a much calmer color palette.” Colors included champagne, gray, khaki, and silver.

The centerpiece of the festivities was a dramatic so-called "Shimmering Pavilion,” floating within the Beverly Hilton's Aqua Star Pool. Floating decor pieces in the exposed section of pool surrounded the pavilion.

The lighted walls throughout the party drew inspiration from computer boards. Images by Lighting handled the party's lighting.

The chandelier, an original design for the party, took its inspiration from both Purple Rain and The Matrix. The 20-foot-wide metallic gold structure also included 500 feet of LED neon.

JOWY Productions produced the bold, colorful party, where DJ Michelle Pesce spun for the crowd.

Fox partnered with 15/40 Productions for the production of its annual viewing- and after-party.

The overall theme of this year’s NBCUniversal viewing- and after-party was 1920s modern deco. Event producer Angel City Designs created the look with a color palette featuring pewter, navy, and fuchsia with copper accents throughout the space. For a supper club-like feel, guests sat at café tables, curved couches, and half-round banquettes, all with a prime view of the multiple 90- and 60-inch plasmas located throughout the tent.

Conveniently located at the Beverly Hilton’s Circa 55 restaurant and Aqua Star Pool, which are situated directly outside the ballroom where the Globes are held, HBO’s bash is often the first stop on the Globes party circuit. The event was overseen by HBO’s Cindy Tenner—who continued her longtime collaboration with event designer Billy Butchkavitz and his brother Brian Butchkavitz—and featured a palette of golds and orchid with geometric patterns inspired by 1960s art. Images by Lighting handled lighting, and animated 3-D projections by Bart Kresa completed the look.

In a lounge outside the main ballroom, attendees could recharge and re-glam at interactive sponsor stations. At the L'Oreal Beauty Bar, guests sampled the new Infallible Paints collection and left messages on the adjacent mirror about "why they are magic." Meanwhile, AT&T offered a spot to recharge cell phones throughout the evening, and sponsor Lincoln displayed one of its vehicles.

The luxury car brand also hosted its annual Oscar celebration on Thursday night at Chateau Marmont, drawing a crowd of celebrities including Allison Janney, Tiffany Haddish, and Sarah Silverman. Event Eleven handled production and design.
