Opened May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” will showcase about 100 of the late designer’s pieces, dating from his postgraduate collection to his final runway presentation.

Household appliance company Electrolux created the Cube, a mobile dining room that will appear on landmark sites across Europe throughout 2011. Starting at the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, the 18-seat space will host chefs from each location who will cook on the company’s appliances.

Created by London-based collective the School of Life for Morgans Hotel Group, each box includes a set of conversation-starting cards, a “dreams and fears notebook,” and reading suggestions to aid relaxation or seduction.

Netherlands-based artist collective Rotganzen’s newest work, “Party,” is a series of tilted party tents. The artists say the whimsical steel sculptures represent “the ambivalence at typically Dutch backyard parties. On one hand, there is joy and festivity, on the other superficiality and emptiness.”
