10 New Hotels for Events and Meetings in Los Angeles

These new (and newly renovated) venues have meeting rooms, conference facilities, ballrooms, and outdoor spaces, and are equipped to handle small or large groups. Here are the 10 best hotels in and around Los Angeles for events, meetings, seminars, and business entertaining.

1. Hotel Erwin

The Hotel Erwin has just opened its new Red Bull Dogtown Suite, a partnership between the Joie de Vivre property and Red Bull. The suite is available for event rental. The loft-style space has an open floor plan for entertaining. There's a DJ booth, kitchenette, a 52-inch television, and an outdoor patio. It can also be rented with all or part of the hotel's rooftop bar, High, which is easily accessible by way of an adjacent set of stairs. Event rates start at $3,000.

Hotel Maya just has debuted the largest man-made beach in Long Beach with its 6,500-square-feet Playa at the Maya. The resort-style, urban beach is centered on the property’s 14 lush acres that are dotted with 500 palm trees. It includes 285 tons of real sand, two four-feet diameter fire pits, colorful umbrellas,  chaise lounges and a day bed. Hotel Maya has 199 guest rooms with organic furnishings and finishes. There's also a seaside heated swimming pool and whirlpool with nearby private floating cabanas. Adjacent to the pool is a full bar and sitting area with fire pits for rest and relaxation. Fuego, the Latin indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, has 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating for 146 guests with 80 on the patio and a separate, private-dining cabana area.

3. Intercontinental Los Angeles

Intercontinental Los Angeles launched its newly renovated event space, the Grand Salon Ballroom and Foyer, in April. With chrome, white, and charcoal accents, the space has a modern look and feel. It has built-in LED lights and top-end technology. The hotel aimed to keep the integrity of the original structure and many of its distinguishing features from the original construction in 1988, like the chandeliers, which were refinished in chrome. The ballroom holds 400 for a reception, 300 for a seated event, or 200 classroom style. The adjoining foyer works as a break or pre-reception area.

4. Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows

Hospitality veteran Brent Bolthouse is slated to open the Bungalow early in August. The new venue in a freestanding bungalow at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica offers sweeping ocean views, gardens, rustic interior design, expansive decks, style-minded meeting spaces, and intimate patios. Cocktails and an exclusive menu come from chef Ray Garcia’s Fig restaurant. The Bungalow is a partnership between Bolthouse and the hotel’s owner MSD Capital. Design comes from Bolthouse and the agency Studio Collective, with a look meant to underscore a beachside experience and the charm attached to seaside cottages. Private gatherings and events including industry parties, fireside acoustic music sets, and others will kick off the venue this summer.

The new, 32-room Palihotel opened in February. Among its features is Palikitchen, the property's take on a local cafe that offers casual, approachable comfort food. There's also the Thai Thai spa for Thai massage right for pampering groups, and the Vanity blowdry bar.

In April, Montage Beverly Hills opened the renamed and renovated Parq Bar. The space offers outdoor seating overlooking the Beverly Canon Gardens and nightly entertainment. In addition to drinks, a menu offers the likes of house-made charcuterie, and sushi rolls and sashimi. Afternoon tea is available and is served in delicate, hand-painted china by porcelain artist Lissi Kaplan, with savory and sweet bites from executive chef Gabriel Ask. In-house interior designer Nina Petronzio of Plush Home redesigned Parq Bar by updating the fabric color scheme to include luxe draperies and original works from the hotel’s fine art collection.

The new Orlando Hotel has a variety of spaces right for events and entertaining. The third-floor Entertainers Suite is a two- to three-bedroom connecting suite with a wide balcony overlooking the corner of Orlando Avenue and Third Street. The newly remodeled suite is finished in a contemporary style using earth tones and textures of wood, leather, marble, and glass. There's a master bath with a freestanding egg-shaped soaking tub and TV, a standard bath, and a powder room. There are two 42-inch HD flat-screen TVs and oversize desks and work areas in the living room-dining room area. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the boutique hotel.

The Hotel Hanford in Costa Mesa offers a boardroom with a grand conference table and black leather seating. It has a private bathroom and an outdoor patio. The boardroom comes with 12 appropriate chairs, but the room fits approximately 18 people. The hotel also offers a wine salon is right for a wine-centric tasting event or other small gathering. There's a table for 10 guests, and groups can expand into the adjacent lounge. An on-site wine expert has 25 years of experience.

Fairplex officially opened the doors to its new, high-tech Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center in March. The new 85,000-square-foot center is intended to be a highly versatile space, with spacious seminar rooms and breakout rooms with interactive digital white boards, video-conferencing, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Catering options at the space, which includes a ballroom with a capacity of 1,000 seated for a meal, include farm-to-table produce grown at the on-campus FairView Farms. The new venue is situated in the 487-acre Fairplex Campus, where there are eight expo halls. Overall, the campus offers amenities such as the Finish Line Sports Grill and Avalon banquet facility, which accommodates 500 guests. And the Sheraton Hotel has 11,000 square feet of meeting space in addition to the space at the conference center.

The Hotel Amarano Burbank completed an $8 million expansion in March. The new facilities include 31 new guest rooms and suites, a swimming pool and spa, and an 1,800-square-foot penthouse, the Chairman’s Suite. Forchielli Glynn L.L.C. redesigned the hotel, including the giant new suite, which has a large outdoor private deck with a cabana-covered dining table for six guests, a private outdoor spa, sunning area, and exercise equipment. The suite’s entryway has hardwood floors, and the living room has a wet bar with a Viking wine cooler, L-shaped sofa, and a 50-inch television.
