#2 Entertainment Industry Event
Originally established to revitalize lower Manhattan, the cinematic celebration has since become one of the most recognized film festivals in North America and last year saw attendance of more than 467,000 people. For its 15th year, the festival, which is sponsored by AT&T, introduces Tribeca Talks: Storytellers, a series of in-depth conversations with creative leaders like Tina Fey and Tom Hanks. The Film Society of Lincoln Center hosts the film fest, which draws 70,000 movie fans to venues all over Lincoln Center for screenings and related events. Robert Zemekis's The Walk kicked off the festivities in 2015. Next: Fall 2016

#4 Entertainment Industry Event (up from #5)
For its 70th anniversary, the Tony awards will return to the Beacon Theatre in 2016. The awards air live on CBS and honor theater professionals for their achievements on Broadway. Next: June 12, 2016

#5 Entertainment Industry Event (up from #6)
Named for Charlie Chaplin, the annual fund-raiser brings together more than 3,000 people to recognize the film industry's most notable talents. Robert Redford received the honor in 2015, and this year's ceremony will pay tribute to Morgan Freeman. Next: April 25, 2016

Julianne Moore received top honors last year, joining a list of past winners including Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, and Julia Roberts. Details are still in the works for 2016, but organizers expect 500 guests. Next: Spring 2016

Brooklyn's Northside Festival brings together culture and innovation in venues across Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Last year, more than 110,000 people made their way to at least one event, and 120,000 guests are expected in 2016. Next: June 6-12, 2016

As the importance and scope of digital media continue to skyrocket, the NewFronts have carved out a place of importance for ad buyers and media executives. Founded by the Interactive Advertising Bureau in 2012, the event provides a platform for content providers like Hulu, Yahoo, BuzzFeed, and Bloomberg Media to share upcoming plans with potential advertisers.
