Internet Week recognizes technology’s impact on business, entertainment, and culture around the world. The festival is packed with more than 250 events all over the city, drawing 45,000 attendees. Next: May 18-24, 2017

#2 Technology Industry Event
About 10,000 entrepreneurs, influencers, and early digital adopters each year attend gatherings that make up the city’s edition of the event. This year’s global Social Media Week theme is “Language and the Machine,” which will examine the evolution of new forms of communications in business, art, science, and, of course, social media. #3 Technology Industry Event
Founded in 2004, the event at N.Y.U.’s Skirball Auditorium draws some 850 attendees each month. Run by the NY Tech Alliance—formed in 2016 after a merger of the nonprofit New York Tech Meetup and the New York Technology Council—the gatherings feature live demos from New York’s technology companies, followed by an after-party. #4 Technology Industry Event
More than 35,000 attendees and 575 startups are expected at the 2017 New York TechDay. This year, the event adds TechDay Access, a breakout portion where late-stage startup founders will give advice to mid-stage startups. ABC’s Shark Tank will also be on site hosting an open casting call. Next: April 18, 2017

#5 Technology Industry Event
To be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion, CE Week 2017 will feature hundreds of products and over 20 conference sessions. The event attracts more than 3,000 media and consumer electronics professionals each year. Next: July 12-13, 2017

#6 Technology Industry Event (new to the list)
The immersive gathering focuses on the world of virtual reality and immersive storytelling. The event includes a 500-guest, invitation-only summit and a hands-on festival—the largest of its kind—with demos, panel discussions, live performances, interactive games, and more. Next: October 4-9, 2017
