Pride returned for a month-long celebration in 2017, culminating in the 37th annual Pride parade. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined Toronto Mayor John Tory and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne at the immensely popular parade, where Mercedes-Benz Canada was a first-time sponsor. Next: June 2018

#2 Festival & Parade
Organizers expect attendance to swell to 1.5 million in 2017 as the month-long Caribbean party celebrates its 50th year and Canada 150. E-commerce app Peeks joins the party as presenting sponsor. Next: July 2018

#3 Festival & Parade (new to the list)
The highlight of the three-week Latin cultural celebration is the Salsa on St. Clair free street festival, which will see people of all backgrounds dancing in the streets. Grammy winner Carlos Vives performs in 2017, when TD returns as title sponsor for second consecutive year. Next: July 2-22, 2018

#4 Festival & Parade
Buskers of all stripes return to the east end’s Woodbine Park this year, which will feature a 100-seat mini circus tent offering lively 15-minute shows. Organizers expect attendance to top last year’s 150,000 as awareness of the new location grows. Next: September 1-4, 2017

#5 Festival & Parade
Santa spotters were treated to mostly new floats at the world’s longest-running parade in 2016. Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and Kia return in 2017 as sponsors for the six-kilometer parade. Next: November 19, 2017
