Is Your Event Storm-Ready?

At the Event Innovation Forum in South Florida, David Vandenheuvel shared why planners need to plan for unexpected weather emergencies and what steps can be taken to ensure guest safety.

You can't change the weather—but you can certainly plan for it. Even without hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods, an event or meeting can be disrupted—and guests endangered—by lightning, hail, strong winds, and extreme temperatures. At the Event Innovation Forum—South Florida on April 23, Weather Decision Technologies' senior vice president of enterprise services, David Vandenheuvel, discussed the importance of emergency preparedness as well as the tools—including the Event Safety Alliance's Event Safety Guide—that event and meeting planners can use to avert weather-related disasters.
