7 New Hotel Openings and Renovations on the East Coast

Gearing up for travel this year and looking for what’s new in town? Our team rounded up a list of hotels in the East that have finally opened (or re-opened) their doors to the public.
  1. AC Hotel Miami Aventura by Marriott

Having opened its doors in July 2017, this 233-room property sits local to luxury shopping and dining at Aventura Mall, the Gulfstream Park Racecourse & Casino, Hard Rock Stadium, South Beach and the famous Wynwood arts district. AC Hotel Miami Aventura offers six event rooms amassing 2,871 square feet of event space, with the largest at 1,058 square feet and two breakout rooms.
  1. Foxfire, Maryland

This quaint destination in historic Hartford County, Maryland, is perfect for small meetings and milestone events. With a variety of locations, Foxfire can accommodate up to 300 guests and offers various programs for groups. Only a 40 minute trip from Baltimore and 75 minutes from Washington D.C., this estate provides a mere perfect retreat from any cityscape. The 127-acre grounds are beautifully landscaped and the gardens are manicured year round for a picturesque escape.
  1. Pod Brooklyn, New York

New York’s first modular hotel has arrived in Brooklyn’s trendy Williamsburg neighborhood. After success in Manhattan and Washington D.C., the micro-hotel offers 249 100-sq.-ft. guest rooms starting at $99 per night. The hotel includes private event space for meetings as well as connecting courtyards and rooftops interwoven with the layout of the pod rooms. The hotel group hopes to accommodate to today’s savvy, “young-minded” travelers and business professionals. Following this opening came the arrival of their flagship location, Pod Times Square, featuring 665 guest rooms across 28 floors.
  1. Allenberry Resort, Pennsylvania

The iconic Allenberry Resort, nestled in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, re-opened to the public late 2017. Capitalizing on its historic lineage dating back to the 1790s, the 75-room resort is comprised of 20 lodges spread across 57 acres. Both interior and outdoor spaces have been renovated to offer old-fashioned and contemporary amenities—meet the needs of visitors of all types. Teambuilding activities include attending shows at the Allenberry Playhouse, hiking the Appalachian Trail and fly-fishing at Yellow Breeches Creek.
  1. Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan, New York

Adjacent to Hudson Yards neighborhood, Intercontinental Hotel Groups’ Crowne Plaza brand has officially opened its new property. Located mere blocks from the city’s major transportation hubs, the Javits Center and Madison Square Garden, the new property is a design-centric urban oasis for the modern business traveler. The hotel boasts two meeting rooms, communal work space and a 24-hour business lounge to cater to guests working at any and all hours.  The hotel offers amenities like a fitness center equipped with Peloton bikes and Ample Woodway treadmills.
  1. The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village, Florida

The Tarpon Point Ballroom and guest room renovation finished ahead of its projected opening date at the Southwest Florida resort and is now home to the largest function space in Cape Coral. At 12,250 square-feet, the Tarpon Point Ballroom has capacity to host 1,400 guests and can be divided into multiple spaces to accommodate up to six smaller banquet rooms. By increasing the resort’s total function space to 30,000 square feet, groups can take advantage of a spacious 4,754-sq.-ft. pre-function area and expansive 1,728-sq.-ft. terrace overlooking the Caloosahatchee River estuary.
  1. Hotel Saranac, Curio Collection by Hilton, New York

Following a four-year, $35 million restoration, the Adirondack's iconic Hotel Saranac reopened in early 2018. Dating back to the 1920s, tge renovated hotel includes 82 guest rooms located in its main building, and 20 more suites in Compass Point, an adjacent complex that will open later this year. These larger, more private suites are ideal for corporate groups and events.
