Michael Kors and Pointer Sisters Slated for Destination Fashion 2009

At a special kickoff brunch for Destination Fashion 2009 on Tuesday, the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis announced that Michael Kors would be the presenting designer and the Pointer Sisters would perform; the event's headlining musical act will be announced early next year. At the event, guests will enjoy a special fashion show from Kors-where he will debut his newest collection at the Destination Fashion Arena, on the grounds of the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami-as well as food, entertainment, and items up for auction.

Designed and created by Barton G., the March 7 event will raise money for the Buoniconti Fund, the fund-raising arm of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Check back for more information as the event draws near.

In February, the Boston Winter Ball—often referred to as “Boston’s Biggest Night Out” and held at Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport—raised $2.1 million for underprivileged youth via the Corey C. Griffin Foundation. Produced by AJ Williams of AJ Events, the black-tie fundraiser featured a 60-by-60-foot dance floor with a 40-by-50-foot disco ball/silver orb ceiling treatment, which set the stage for a laser light show.
