This weekend, Leila Fakouri (founder of San Francisco’s Madrone Lounge), will debut her new 3,600-square-foot design house and gallery downtown. Madera Design will showcase rotating expositions and design projects, as well as host events. The space is available for full buyouts, with room for about 200, and Madera's sister company, Castle Builder Productions, produces the events on site.
The space includes a 600-square-foot gallery, 600-square-foot sitting room, and raised stage areas—one that's 11 by 25 feet, and one that's 12 by 12. Amenities include a full kitchen with bar counter, custom chairs and couches, a large wooden dinning table for 14, a full sound system with wall- and ceiling-mounted speakers for surround sound, a custom vintage DJ booth with turntables and a CD mixer, a projection screen with multiple inputs, an upright piano, and a 42-inch wall-mounted flat-screen TV.
