In addition to selling cookies custom-designed by customers in the store, the new Sweet Flour Bake Shop, which opened in Bloor West Village on Saturday, can cater meetings and events. Owner Kim Gans accepts orders for cookies, muffin tops, and sandwich cookies by the dozen, with prices ranging from $19 to $25. The shop has three cookie doughs—original, peanut butter, and oatmeal—and more than 20 choices of ingredients that can be mixed in, including Belgian chocolate chunks, M&Ms, toffee pieces, and macadamia nuts. Sweet Flour currently delivers within a five-mile radius (including downtown Toronto), with plans to expand the service. A minimum order of three dozen cookies is required and delivery charges apply. Orders can also be placed ahead of time for pick-up, and custom gift bags with monogrammed cookies are available for events.
