The G20 Summit will take place this year at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh from September 24 to 25. The U.S. State Department recently announced that Lanham, Maryland-based Hargrove and Halethorpe, Maryland-based Showcall have been awarded the contract to provide the summit's design, fabrication, project management, freight handling, and technical, audiovisual, and internal broadcast services.
Hargrove, a trade show, exhibit, and event production company, and Showcall, a full-service event production firm, are no strangers to working together. Previously the two companies have joined forces on major events such as Pope Benedict XVI's mass at Nationals Stadium, the G20 Summit in Washington, the G8 Summit in Savannah, Georgia, and the 2009 Presidential Inauguration.
“We are honored by the opportunity to be part of this historical event," said Hargrove C.E.O. Tim McGill in a press release. "Our company’s history with events of this magnitude makes us uniquely qualified to respond with an extraordinary level of creativity and quality service.”
Added Showcall principle Ajay R. Patil, “We are thrilled to play a pivotal role in what will be our third international summit held here in the U.S. Our proven experience in large-format high-profile events in highly secured environments provides us the ability to understand the big picture while being able to anticipate changes and maintain flexibility.”
