After last month's news that event designer and producer David Stark will join editor in chief Chad Kaydo for the morning keynote address at the BizBash Expo & Awards in New York October 21, we can now confirm that architect David Rockwell will deliver the keynote at the afternoon general session.

As founder and C.E.O. of Rockewell Group, David Rockwell hasn't only designed airports, hospitals, hotels, and restaurants—a great deal of his work focuses on more ephemeral works. The set designer for the 2008 Academy Awards and Broadway's Hairspray, Rockwell plans to  discuss the process of making his plans come to fruition and his efforts to make his more temporary works leave lasting impressions.

Highlights of Rockwell's architectural projects were compiled in the 2002 book Pleasure: The Architecture and Design of Rockwell Group, and his most recent book, Spectacle, examines the lore of immense man-made events. He's been honored at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Awards, received the Presidential Design Award for his participation in the renovation of Grand Central Terminal, and recently earned an Emmy nod for his work on the 2008 Oscars. He presently serves as chairman of the board of Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (Diffa).

Registration is already open for the expo, held again this year at the Jacob Javits Center.
