So easy to set up, your mother could do it. That’s how the Taylor Group's business development director, Rory Amelio, describes his company’s newest modular exhibit rental product. The Toronto-based experiential marketing producer is the exclusive North American dealer for Modulbox, created and manufactured by German company Mo Systeme.
“Our clients were constantly asking us for a solution," Amelio said. "They might do two or three big shows per year, but they do a ton of little shows. With Modulbox, you get it from point A to point B and open the doors, and everything is set up and ready to go. It’s an event space in a box." The product has been available since May and was used as a pop-up salon in Times Square by Procter & Gamble and to house a tire-changing challenge for fans at the Honda Indy Toronto.
When folded up, Modulbox is approximately an eight-foot cube. It can be used in an 8- by 8-foot space or fully opened to cover an area of about 16 by 24 feet. Multiple units can also be combined to create larger structures.
The Modulbox fits on a trailer that can be hitched to most vehicles. An integrated hydraulic system lifts it off the trailer and lowers it to the ground. The Taylor Group can add custom graphics to the inside and outside of all doors and panels including the roof, which is strong enough to hold a DJ booth or display a car. The company also creates each interior design, adding items such as refrigeration, counters, shelving, or audiovisual equipment.
