Recently, WCMG was exceptionally proud to produce the 16th Annual Lycée Français de New York Gala, a large fundraising event that benefits the school's programs. WCMG worked closely with the event's host committee to help conceptualize a massive gala dinner at Manhattan's iconic Park Avenue Armory.
The decor for the evening was inspired by the work of the guest of honor, Brooklyn-based artist JR, and issued a powerful statement on the way that art impacts the wider society at large. Every detail of the evening was meticulously planned to mirror this idea, and WCMG used every tool at its disposal, including light, color, large-scale focal pieces, and more than 4,000 yellow tulips. In fact, the entire venue was punctuated by pops of yellow, which included the flowers, items on the auction table, and the massive custom painted bar. The effect was a visually stunning event, and the ambiance and grandeur were nothing short of spectacular.
The event also played with the visual elements of perspective. All the tables were arranged to mirror a person's sightlines as they entered the event, which guided by beams of light drew guests' eyes to the stage. Because a short wall displaying JR's work separated the cocktail reception and dinner areas without blocking the view, it was nearly impossible to look away from the stage, which featured a massive pair of eyes in JR's signature style.

Guests were also invited to enjoy a dance performance choreographed by world famous performer Blanca Li. Other entertainment included a live DJ and, in keeping with JR's photography, a massive photo booth for guests to utilize. Honoree JR, as well as others, delivered a host of powerful speeches that helped to inspire and bolster the important role that art plays in community building. Throughout the evening, guests had the option to participate in a massive silent auction, which featured highly covetable items and amazing gifts donated by prestigious brands, including Hermes, Prada, and Mini Cooper. Overall, the nearly 1,000 guests raised approximately $2 million to support the school's curriculum and programs.

When planning events of this scale, WCMG understands that no stone can go unturned. As an experiential marketing agency, WCMG provides creative strategy, logistics, concept, design, and production. Using emotion as a tool to connect brands with their target audiences, WCMG is able to amplify brand-marketing strategies through experiences globally. These experiences challenge boundaries, create powerful results and return-on-investments, and most importantly, trigger conversations. Every detail of an event helps to create a lasting impact for every guest in attendance. In applying this mentality to the 2015 Lycée Français de New York Gala, the event was elevated to a new level of lavishness that will raise the bar for the future.
