The Rancho Bernardo Inn, which was evacuated on October 22 as the Witch Creek fire approached, has reopened. The 287-room, 265-acre resort is located north of Rancho Bernardo Road in North County. The property's golf course experienced some damage but is available for guest use.
Since reopening, the resort has been offering housing for displaced residents, staff members, and firefighters. Before the fires, the Rancho Bernardo Inn had completed a $25 million renovation, which includes a new pool and spa, a ballroom and conference center, and guest-room updates.
