


The Washington bar Mockingbird Hill has temporarily changed its concept to become the holiday-theme Miracle on Seventh Street through December 24. The venue redecorated with kitschy Christmas decor and included a “Hanukkah Hangout” complete with a dreidel chandelier. Along with a list of holiday cocktails named after holiday references in pop culture, the bar is offering activities such as Christmas classic movie nights and Manischewitz Pong competitions.

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving—traditionally one of the busiest travel days of the year—J. Crew and JetBlue offered a respite for harried travelers. A pop-up installation at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport had four claw machines offering treats such as jewelry, hats, and gloves from J. Crew as well as JetBlue travel certificates.

Brooklyn-based artist Greg LaMarche designed the colorful space. Complimentary catering came courtesy of vendors from J.F.K.’s Terminal 5: Starbucks, Baked By Melissa, Cibo, and Ben & Jerry’s. Other activities included a temporary tattoo station and a photo booth.

The millennial-friendly office supply company Poppin hosted a Friendsgiving event at its New York showroom in November. The event combined elements of Thanksgiving and Christmas by encouraging guests to give thanks and pick out gifts for friends, family, and co-workers. Gift-wrapping services using Knot & Bow’s quirky paper were available, and cards from Crumple & Toss along with ink stamps and markers let guests compose their own notes.

Chandon set up an extensive photo vignette that included, among other props, a bicycle with a cooler full of bubbly as well as colorful flutes, beach balls, and inflatables.


Official Golden Globes champagne sponsor Moët & Chandon returned with its Toast for a Cause initiative on the red carpet, inviting celebrities in the arrivals line to raise Moët & Chandon Impérial minis. For each toast, the brand will donate $1,000 to the celebrity’s charity of choice in his or her name. New to the program this year, Moët & Chandon will also donate another $1,000 to fund next year’s Moët Moment Film Festival, which supports young filmmakers and artists.

Sponsor Tiny Prints made a contribution to the Robin Hood Foundation for each guest who wrote a thank-you note to a loved one or anyone else on site; reps from the brand later mailed the letters to the chosen recipients. Additional sponsors this year included DeLeon, Fiji Water, Marie Claire, and Hearts on Fire Jewelry. Â



BarclayCard's lounge at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, was open January 22 to 24 at 364 Main Street. Sponsor Campbell's provided guests the opportunity to make their own soups at a custom, buffet-style soup station.



Going against the traditional rule of no glasses by the pool, Tervis launched its new line of insulated plastic wine glasses at the Spike the Pool party on February 26. Chef Spike Mendelsohn hosted the event at the Hall hotel, where he recently opened Sunny's restaurant.

Pandora hosted a free invitation-only concert event in Los Angeles known as Summer Crush—in the middle of a 100-degree heatwave in August. Anticipating the weather, the team worked with AEG and city planners to secure the L.A. Convention Center West Hall for offsite check-in and holding out of the heat. Organizers also arranged for 18 self-contained misters, a water truck on standby, and a Chevron activation in the form of a mini gas station with custom-designed pumps that distributed water into branded bottles.Â



Glamour magazine and Facebook are planning a series of live events to reach young women this election season. The initiative was announced at a launch party that took place in March at the P.O.V. Lounge at W Washington, D.C., hotel. Donkeys, elephants, and the Glamour and Facebook logos were emblazoned on the lemons and limes used to garnish drinks.
