Nike turned a promotion for its partnership with the N.F.L. and a new performance-measuring product into a sports competition with the “Fast Is Faster Field Day” event on Saturday. Students from the Public Schools Athletic League and consumers vied for the fastest times in various activities; the day ended with an award ceremony at New York’s Pier 46, where Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (pictured, left) handed out footballs signed by Victor Cruz of the New York Giants.

Tiger Woods Foundation’s Tiger Jam

Fourteen years since kicking off, the Tiger Jam fund-raiser again took over the Las Vegas strip, bringing host Tiger Woods and entertainers Jon Bon Jovi and American Idol-winner David Cook to the stage. Held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, the sold-out concert and accompanying events raised approximately $1 million for programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation. Kicking off the weekend on Friday, V.I.P. guests came out to the Cascata Golf Club for a private exhibition with Woods followed by a round of golf.

E! Upfront

On Monday night, entertainment network E! hit Gotham Hall for its first New York upfront—also its first large scale presentation. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the event was designed to reflect the network’s new brand campaign, with a color palette of black and white, and pops of bright pink, yellow, and blue throughout the space. The evening also saw appearances by some of the stars of the channel's reality TV shows, including the Kardashian and Jonas families, Joan Rivers, and musical performances by Gym Class Heroes and Neon Hitch.

American Cancer Society’s Discovery Ball

The American Cancer Society’s Discovery Ball took place at Chicago’s Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel on April 28. The event’s most successful live auction to date raked in $418,000. One of the 10 prizes was an eight-week-old silver Labrador retriever named Sterling. The hard-to-resist prize went for $35,000, and came with a 'Puppy Kit' that included a leash, collar, bowl, food, DVD and training book, and grooming and vet checkups.

W Network’s 10th Anniversary

To mark 10 years in business, specialty women’s television channel W Network hosted a bash on April 26 at its broadcasting headquarters, Corus Entertainment, in Toronto. The event celebrated the brand, incorporating all of the network’s interests from food to fashion to decor. Digital signage, branding, and pops of orange, W’s signature colour, added to the look.

Google and The Hollywood Reporter joined established hosts MSNBC, Bloomberg, and Vanity Fair in the race to lure guests from the worlds of politics, media, and entertainment to the related parties.

Children and family advocacy group Hollygrove celebrated its centennial with a gala at the Hollywood Museum in the historic Max Factor building in Los Angeles on April 25. "Hooray for Hollygrove," as it was known, was presented by Juicy Couture and hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Busy Philipps, and Mary McCormack, with Rob Reiner serving as the night’s M.C. Director of development Cathy Kort worked with the Buzz Girls' and TIL PR's Heather Hope-Allison on the production. The event offered a sneak peek at the young Norma Jean exhibit, including memorabilia from one particular Hollygrove resident—who later in her life became known as Marilyn Monroe.

Replica Chopard pieces adorned flower arrangements of white orchids, hydrangeas, and roses. Afterward, select guests attended a private dinner at St. Regis Bal Harbour's Atlantico restaurant.

Rethink Music Conference

The Rethink Music conference at Boston’s Hynes Convention Center April 22 to 24 drew 500 students, musicians, academics, and industry experts to engage in dialogue about the state of the music business. The new Impact Weekend programming took place on the Friday and Saturday before the conference’s official start. On both days, the Hackers’ Weekend took place at the Microsoft N.E.R.D. Center. The event brought together technology developers, designers, programmers, musicians, and industry pros to create their own rapidly developed apps, referred to as 'hacks.'
