One of the most renowned concert venues on the West Coast has completed a $24 million face-lift. The Hollywood Bowl—which has hosted everyone from the Beatles to Prince and is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic—began its renovation in October 2003 and welcomed crowds to see its remodeled look and technological advancements just in time for the summer concert season in June. Executive architects Gruen Associates, along with designers Hodgetts & Fung and Christopher Jaffe, expanded the shell by 30 percent to cover the full orchestra, and built a reflective canopy to enhance the acoustics.
