After quitting her job as a designer with the Andre Balazs hotel group last summer, Los Angeles native Leyla Safai tried her luck as a truck driver of sorts. She filled a truck with cool plexiglass shelving, stocked it with ice cream, candy, and toys from all around the world, painted the outside pink with unicorns and hearts (recalling the iconic Lisa Frank stickers of the 80’s), called it Hearts Challenger, and drove it around town to bars and festivals. She had so much success on the road that she is just about to add a second truck, and also plans a New York expansion next year. The truck is available for event booking, and its exterior and the stock inside can be customized for any brand to dispense snacks or giveaways for guests. The coolest thing about it? Safai and boyfriend Ben Pollock create all the music that blares from the vehicle’s speakers. —Alesandra Dubin
