The 51st Grammy Awards will take to the Staples Center this Sunday, February 8—and the new Grammy Museum at L.A. Live is hosting a week of programming to coincide with the ceremony. On Thursday, executive director Robert Santelli will interview New Orleans musician Allen Toussaint in the Grammy Sound Stage, a 12- by 20-foot stage surrounded by 206 seats on the venue's second floor. An audience Q&A session and musical performance will follow.

On Saturday, the museum will host the Grammy Children's Music Showcase, featuring 2009 nominees in the children's music categories. The event will include performances by Buck Howdy, Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could, and the 2009 lifetime achievement award honoree, folk singer Tom Paxton.

Next week, after the awards wrap, the museum will launch its music film series, Reel to Reel. The Wrecking Crew will screen on February 12, and Kick Snare Hat: The Superstar Drummers of Hip Hop and R&B the following week.
