1. STREAMING POLITICAL DEBATE: From Orlando bureau chief Mitra Sorrells: Fox News and Google will host a Republican presidential primary debate September 22 from the Orange County Convention Center. The debate will be broadcast live on the Fox News Channel and streamed live on YouTube. Until midnight September 21, the public is invited to submit questions via video or text to the Fox News YouTube channel, and then to vote "thumbs up/thumbs down" on questions using Google Moderator. 2. PAYING FOR TUMBLR COVERAGE: The blogging platform wants brands and labels participating in New York Fashion Week to pay for coverage. Tumblr proposes different prices for various tiers of coverage. The Observer: "The proposal asked for $100,000 to have 4 of Tumblr’s 'select bloggers' produce 15 posts for the brand’s Tumblr during the week, with the 'exact nature of the content to be agreed upon prior to the start of the week.' For $150,000 brands could get ad placement on the official NY Fashion week Tumblr. For $350,000 they could get ad placement on the Tumblr tagged 'fashion' page." For $10,000 big fashion brands could spend a little quality time with the 20 select bloggers at a private event.

4. DAVID LYNCH'S PARIS CLUB: The "Blue Velvet" director opened Silencio in Paris this week, inspired by the nightclub in his film "Mulholland Drive" (a favorite of your Call Sheet compiler Chad, not that you asked). The Guardian: "You do feel you are descending into another world as you go down the six flights of stairs into Silencio…One minute you are in the dark, the next you are in a golden tunnel of mini-mandalas. The effect is somewhere between nirvana, a classy Cincinatti cocktail bar circa 1975, and Goldie's mouth." More, with photos:

5. "EMPIRE" ON THE SUBWAY: To gear up for season two of "Boardwalk Empire," HBO is decorating a vintage 1920s train in fittings from the Prohibition Era. It will run on the express 2/3 subway track in Manhattan beginning Sunday and throughout September. The train, which will stop at three stations, is going to be decorated in furnishings inspired by the HBO show, like rattan seats and drop sash windows. Gothamist:
