Song Airlines used Los Angeles Fashion Week to capitalize on its stylish brand image. MKG Productions produced a lounge for the airline at Smashbox Studios, which featured two rows of actual airline seats, a demo by fitness guru David Barton of his in-flight fitness program, and samples from chef Dave Lieberman’s in-flight menu. Song staged a similar lounge during New York Fashion Week in February 2004; bringing the event to Los Angeles underscored the airline’s new LAX-to-JFK nonstop service, which began in May. —Alesandra Dubin
