For the media launch of Slice, a new female-targeted specialty channel that will specialize in "guilty pleasure" programming, Alliance Atlantis Communications created an event at the Distillery District's Fermenting Cellar that was filled with—what else?—guilty pleasures. The various sensuous activities and sinfully delicious foodstuffs reflected programs scheduled to air on the channel when it debuts in March 2007. For example, dancers from Flirty Girl Fitness pole danced and performed a Coyote Ugly-style dance routine in support of The Last 10 Pounds Boot Camp. Similarly, Daniel et Daniel Event Planning and Catering supplied a chocolate fountain and oyster bar for the Real Wives of Orange County display, which also included poolside white lounge seating from Contemporary Furniture Rentals and handsome pool attendants. A chopped-in-half limousine with an exposed glittering interior decorated a set from which advice columnist Ellie Tesher, representing the show Outlaw-In-Laws, dispensed advice for getting along with the in-laws.Draping concealed the program exhibits at the beginning of the event. Upon their arrival, guests entered a reception space decorated with cocktail tables and a silver settee surrounded by clear acrylic stools and ottomans. After Alliance Atlantis executives, along with event host and TV personality Liza Fromer, introduced the new channel, the draping was pulled back and the party got underway. Throughout the evening, Daniel et Daniel passed appetizers such as vegetable Wellingtons, grilled cheese on mini brioche loaf, sushi burgers, and mini portobello-mushroom burgers. Solange Bernard, marketing manager for Alliance Atlantis's Life Network, organized the event with help from Krista Slack & Associates.
