Steps from the Air Canada Centre, HĂ´tel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square is the second Toronto property from Groupe Germain, the family-owned Quebec-based company that operates HĂ´tel Le Germain on Mercer Street in the city's entertainment district. The 167-room property is part of Maple Leaf Square, a real estate development (and collaboration between Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, the Cadillac Fairview, and Lanterra Developments) that combines offices, retail outlets, and restaurants, including Real Sports Bar & Grill and e11even.
The hotel offers 4,600 square feet of venue space spread over five meeting and function rooms on the third floor, the largest of which is the Hall of Fame. At 1,020 square feet, the space can hold 50 in a classroom setting, 75 in a theatre-style configuration, and as many as 110 for cocktails. The space can also be combined with the Neutral Zone for a total capacity of 125.
The Offensive and Defensive Zones are identical rooms, both of which can accommodate 50 in a theatre-style setting and as many as 35 for cocktails. Both rooms are equipped with retractable screens and projectors. The Penalty Box, which offers views overlooking the entrance to the Air Canada Centre, holds 10 in a boardroom setting and 20 for cocktails. Sunscreens and opaque motorized shades are provided in all of the function rooms.
Suites and apartments can also be booked for small meetings, private dining, and cocktail parties. Suites can hold groups of six for meetings, while apartments can hold 12 for meetings or 20 for cocktail receptions.
Interiors, created by LeMay Michaud Architecture Design, include guest rooms decorated with warm wood accents, goose-down duvets, Frette Egyptian cotton linens, work spaces with ergonomic chairs, 40-inch flat-screen televisions, and stereo alarm clocks with an iPod dock. Spalike bathrooms have rainfall showers and Molton Brown toiletries.
A lobby lounge and bar is on the main floor, and a relaxation lounge, reserved exclusively for hotel guests, is on the second floor.
