After its South Beach location underwent a multi-million dollar expansion and renovation back in 2009, the Clevelander is again expanding. This time the brand is partnering with the city's baseball franchise on the Clevelander at Marlins Ballpark. "When we were approached by the Marlins to lease and develop this incredible space, we saw it as the ideal opportunity for two iconic brands to merge and create energy and entertainment in a unique space for the people of Miami to enjoy,” said Clevelander general manager Mike Palma.
The 4,000-square-foot multi-use venue, set in left field and directly next to the Marlins bullpen, will feature a pool, stage for live entertainment, and bar and grill. The entire space, formally known as La Playa, will be available for corporate or social gatherings during games and on non-game days. Live entertainment will include dancers, DJs, and bands. Also, for group gatherings, the Clevelander plans to work with clients to customize entertainment needs and work with the Marlins to design special, baseball-themed entertainment.
The Clevelander at Marlins Ballpark will have more than 100 over-sized seats in the reserved seating section, and standing room tickets will also be available for games. For events like cocktail receptions, the space will be able to hold more than 200, with access to the upper level above the space to accommodate additional guests. "We’re going to cater to our South Florida audience and really develop a great menu of classics and new dishes," said Palma, also noting that special menus will be created for events. Menu items from the South Beach hotel's restaurant will be featured, as will ballpark classic foods.
Tickets to the Clevelander at Marlins Ballpark will be available on a group and single-ticket basis. The venue is set to open in March 2012.
