The Re:volve Apparel Project—an activewear line made from sustainable materials manufactured using fair-trade practices and bearing messages like “Start Global Cooling"—will debut at Fred Segal tomorrow with a day of shopping followed by a private party.
The event will feature eco-friendly production elements brought in by local sustainable landscape designer Big Red Sun, which will use live plants like succulents, mosses, and epiphytes and will incorporate 500 recycled Coke bottles into the decor. All items from the event will be reused or repurposed, and organic beer and wine and locally sourced food will be on the menu. Re:volve donates a portion of its proceeds to organizations that support social and environmental advocacy, including the Waterkeeper Alliance and the Peace Alliance; both groups, as well as the Environmental Media Association, will have a presence at the event. (The EMA pulled out some similar decor and production tricks at its own recent awards show and party.)
