Chicago-based eDrop-Off, which offers closet clean-outs and sells luxury items on eBay, is the subject of the new VH1 reality show House of Consignment. On Wednesday night, the cast took over the ballroom of the James Hotel to host a premiere screening party for more than 200 invited guests. "Our guest list includes an array of fashion industry insiders around Chicago, as well as various clients and friends that were featured on this season of [the show]," said eDrop-Off brand manager Erin Brennan.
The evening's goal, Brennan said, was to "increase excitement about the show House of Consignment, which will in turn build awareness around the company, eDrop-Off." Clad in a glittering gold dress, the company's founder and the star of the show, Corri McFadden, was on hand to greet guests and pose with them in front of a step-and-repeat splashed with the eDrop-Off logo. The logo also appeared on gift bags, on ribbons tied to swirled lollipops at the sweets table, and on temporary bracelet tattoos scattered on highboy tabletops.
To spread awareness about the 10-episode series, McFadden and her fellow staffers tweeted live from the event, and encouraged guests to do the same. Party-goers who mentioned the show on Twitter were eligible for a $500 eDrop-Off gift certificate, which was given to a selected-at-random winner.
