First there was Grass on the terrace patio, then Wood on the second floor. Now Rock, the main floor (and final phase) of Rockwood, the new Mercer St. nightclub complex, is open for business. Conceived as a reaction to excesses in nightclub design, Rockwood tends toward simplicity with naturalistic decor reflecting the clubs' names. Rock, which accommodates 165 guests for receptions, features onyx tables and mirrored walls with Swarovski crystal accents. The tilting ceiling surfaces are made of glossy black, chrome-finished aluminum. There are three distinct spaces on the floor for guests to hang out. One of the spaces is designed for private gatherings.
