Steps off the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame, the Music Box (formerly known as the Fonda) recently completed a significant renovation. Available for event booking for a variety of group sizes, the venue was built in the '20s and functioned as a playhouse and movie theater before being turned into a concert venue.
The new renovation, with a design conceived by Roy Nachum, makes the space highly flexible, with a total capacity of more than 1,000. The main ballroom has room for 800 standing-room guests. The balcony overlooking it has room for 250, and the rooftop patio holds 300.
Some of the lobby's original flourishes have been restored, and there's a moodily lit ante-chamber. The main stage has luxe private booths and a checkered dance floor. A level floor has replaced the original sloped seating. Plush sofa seating surrounds the balcony perimeter. And the rooftop patio has dedicated indoor and outdoor bars and a garden setting.
