The nightlife kingpins of Boston-based Big Night Entertainment recently opened the 35,000-square-foot High Rollers Luxury Lanes & Lounge, an upscale bowling complex in Foxwoods Resort & Casino.
Suited to private parties and corporate teambuilding excursions, the 20-lane space can accommodate 1,000 guests and has six V.I.P. lanes, four billiard tables, a bilevel lounge, two full-service bars, and a separate function space for private events. Three private rooms accommodate 20 to 100 guests; a larger function space holds as many as 800.
The decor is meant to channel retro Vegas glamour. Interior designer John Stefanon created the look of the space, which has dark wooden floors, a marble bar complete with a piano, and oversize chandeliers. Modern touches include video games and 60 big-screen TVs. A 12-foot screen stretches across the 20 bowling lanes to display movies and customizable content.
Foxwoods Resort Casino is a 6.7 million-square-foot property 75 miles from Boston in southeastern Connecticut. It includes four hotels (with more than 2,500 guest rooms combined), seven casinos, 34 eateries, two spas, two theaters—with 4,000 and 1,400 seats, respectively—and 170,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. The resort, originally built in 1992, was renovated in 2008 with the addition of the MGM Grand.
